A neighborhood studio built slowly, on purpose, around good light and better conversation.
Amber & Sage opened in 2014 in a sun-filled storefront on Ochre Lane, built around a simple idea: a haircut should feel like an exhale. Our founder, tired of rushed appointments and fluorescent lighting, set out to build the opposite — warm tones, real plants, unhurried chairs, and stylists who actually listen before they pick up the shears.
Twelve years later, we're still a small, independent studio. We source botanical color lines, keep our books intentionally light so no one feels rushed, and treat every regular like the neighbor they've become.
We'd rather do one thing beautifully than three things quickly. Every appointment is booked with room to breathe.
Botanical, low-waste color; refillable product bottles; a studio that tries to leave a gentle footprint.
Tea on arrival, honest advice, and zero judgment about how long it's been since your last trim.
We host quarterly guest nights with local artists and makers — this studio is as much a living room as a salon.
Four stylists, one shared obsession with getting your hair exactly right.
Balayage specialist with an eye for warm, low-maintenance dimension.
Precision cutting for textured and curly hair; also our resident scalp-care nerd.
Loves a good transformation — bold color correction is her specialty.
Bright, gentle energy — a favorite for first haircuts and nervous new clients.
We didn't want to open a salon. We wanted to open a room people were happy to sit in for two hours.
